Our Midwives

The Midwife is recognised as a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give them the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy.

Dr Orford’s practice employs 2 Midwives – Tara and Sue.  Tara works Mondays, and Sue Tuesday to Friday.

They are delighted to support you through your pregnancy and are committed to safe midwifery practice and sharing their knowledge gained over years of experience.

We believe that for most women pregnancy is a time of good health, so visits are largely ensuring foetal and maternal wellbeing, education and support. Throughout your pregnancy you will see Sue and/or Tara for some antenatal visits. This collaborative care enhances our practice so that optimal care is available to you.

The Sunshine Coast Private Hospital offers you:

  • A preadmission visit,
  • Antenatal classes,
  • Breastfeeding education and
  • Support with their lactation consultants, and a group maternity ward tour.

Sue and Tara can assist you with arranging all appointments.

We welcome your contact with us to discuss any matters that affect the health and wellbeing of you and your baby to ensure you feel safe and secure throughout your pregnancy.
